Commute to your office
Real driving time on real roads from the flat to Embassy Tech Village, Manyata, ITPL, Electronic City or any address, plus how far the nearest metro station is.
Is the rent fair?
The asking rent against the typical range for the same type of flat in the same locality, so you know before you negotiate whether ₹32,000 in HSR Layout is a deal or not.
What is within 1 km
Metro stations, grocery stores, gyms, hospitals and schools counted from OpenStreetMap, with the nearest one named and its distance, not just the broker saying "everything nearby".
Red flags in the ad
A 10-month deposit, brokerage hidden in the text, "bachelors not allowed" in the last line, a post that is months old, or a rent too good to be true. We flag it before you call.

Is Flatscanner free?
Yes. Your first Flat Score is free with no sign-up. After that we ask for an email address and you get three more, which is enough for a shortlist. Paid report packs come later; there is no brokerage and we never charge landlords or brokers.
Which websites work?
NoBroker, Housing.com, MagicBricks, 99acres and most other listing pages. For WhatsApp, Telegram or Facebook posts, paste the text itself. If you only know the address or the locality, type that and we will still check the commute, nearby essentials and typical rent.
How do you know the fair rent for a locality?
We compare the asking rent with the rent of other listings of the same type (1BHK, 2BHK, PG, shared room) in the same locality. Where we do not have enough listings yet, the report shows an estimate and says so clearly.
How is the commute calculated?
Driving time on real roads using open map data (OpenStreetMap and OSRM), from the flat to the office you choose. The estimate is for off-peak traffic, so expect more at 9 am on the Outer Ring Road. We also show the distance to the nearest metro station.
What is a Flat Score?
A number out of 100 that adds up four things: rent vs the locality, commute, essentials within 1 km, and red flags. The report shows how many points each one contributed and why, so you can disagree with any part of it.
Do you have listings? Can I post my flat here?
No. Flatscanner is not a listings site and we do not take posts from owners or brokers. You bring the listing from wherever you found it; we tell you whether it is worth your time.
Which cities do you cover?
Bangalore right now, including Koramangala, HSR Layout, Indiranagar, Whitefield, Bellandur, Marathahalli, Electronic City, BTM Layout and the rest of the city. Other cities will follow once the Bangalore data is solid.
